Dr Atiur Rahman, Honourable Governor of Bangladesh Bank, visited World Savings & Retail Banking Institute/European Savings & Retail Banking Group (WSBG-ESBG) in Brussels, Belgium, on Thursday, 5 February 2015. This visit was part of the activities of INSPIRED project Component 3 to establish collaborative links and agreements with prominent international educational & training institutions for BBTA & BIBM.
Together with Mr. Chris De Noose, Director of WSBG-ESBG, Honourable Governor signed two MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) on behalf of BBTA and BIBM. The purpose of signing the MoUs is to facilitate collaboration between WSBG-ESBG and BBTA & BIBM, respectively. It is aimed to establish a framework to facilitate a mutual and joint cooperation between the institutions in promoting and undertaking development, education & training in banking & finance, in particular in areas of SME/retail banking, mobile banking, and financial inclusion.
After the signing ceremony, Hon’ble Governor graced the occasion by providing a lecture on “Global Financial Crisis – Bangladesh Response”.
Ali Sabet, Team Leader of INSPIRED Project Component 3, accompanied Hon’ble Governor during his visit to WSBG-ESBG in Brussels.
